about me

I grew up in Canada and moved to Auckland NZ in the early 1980’s. It was just the right time for me to join in and help grow the new and exciting exercise to music boom. In 1983 I started my first business known then as Fitness Unlimited Aerobics, which quickly expanded to two centers in Auckland and franchises in four major cities. In 1996 I reinvented Fitness Unlimited and opened the first boutique personal training studio in St. Heliers which was a great success and operated for many years. After two short visits to New Plymouth Taranaki, I felt drawn to move here and I have been providing personal training from my current studio since 2013.

Personal and Professional development are core values of mine. I’ve always loved working in the health and fitness field and I’m still as passionate and committed as ever.

My aim is to be ‘Positively Life Changing’.

what to expect

The studio is open, spacious, light and airy. It is always clean, tidy and well organized. Towels, water and facilities for showering are all available for your convenience.

You and I train in complete privacy. Having the studio to ourselves means you can easily relax, focus and engage in your exercise. You’ll feel motivated, encouraged and productive in our positive private atmosphere.

Speaking to yourself with encouraging, honest and respectful words will not only transform your exercise sessions and will help you achieve your goals sooner; it will become a new habit and transform your life.

Here at the studio, we treat your physical body, with all the love, respect and care it deserves. We give it every opportunity to amaze and delight you with what it can do.

HOW TO GET STARTED 

It all begins with you making contact to arrange a mutually suitable time for a no-obligation meet and greet. My address is easy to find, with ample and spacious off-street parking. I’ll be there when you arrive, and we will begin with a grand tour of the studio and facilities and then discuss what it is that you want to achieve. I will explain what I believe is likely to be involved with achieving your desired outcomes. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions and gather the information you need before we move forward.

your first appointment

Your first appointment is all about gathering the information I need for your personalised programme. We start by explicitly specifying your goals. This ensures we both know exactly where we’re headed and can measure progress along the way.

Depending on your goals, I may need to ask further questions to establish your medical and structural profile. In some instances, I will require medical or physiotherapist clearance. It is important that any work we do is complementary and supportive of any other physical treatments you may be undergoing.

Regular sessions

When we begin your regular sessions, we will be working with the personalised programme I have designed for you. I will maintain a written record, session by session, so you will be able to see the progress you are making. Many clients find themselves pleasantly surprised by the progress that they make in a relatively short space of time.

PRICING & PAYMENT OPTIONS

Pricing is inclusive of GST, towels, filtered water, and use of private changing and shower facilities.
I structure my programmes in sets of 10 sixty-minute sessions which I refer to as a Term. The first Term is priced at $550, and $500 for subsequent Terms. This assumes training a minimum of twice per week.

Personal Training Conditions of Service

Payment in Advance – Each term is paid in full prior to the first session.
Payment Options – cash or internet banking.
Rescheduling Appointments – If you need to change the time or day of your appointment, please let me know as soon as possible so we can find a suitable alternative.
Arriving On Time – Out of respect for you and my other clients it is important that we always begin at the scheduled time and so I ask that you be here on time or a few minutes early.
Pricing – Prices may change in the future – I will give plenty of notice of any pricing changes.
Client Suitability – Unfortunately not all the personal training services I offer are suitable for every individual.
Refund Policy – Any unused sessions will be refunded.
